AMCASH offers technical support via process modelling, structural modelling and materials properties modelling; using selected finite element (FE) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, materials modelling datasets and mathematical software.

Computational Modelling

Finite element modelling enables prediction of shape, deformation, temperature, stress and strain fields during complex thermo-mechanical material processing. It enables assessment of a manufacturing route that would be difficult to achieve using instrumented experiments alone.

Process Monitoring

We have a variety of high-speed cameras for allowing greater understanding of rapid materials or manufacturing behaviour. Additionally, we have thermal monitoring equipment, including thermocouple probes, pyrometers and infra-red thermal cameras, to review processing operations. This experimental data can be used to further customers’ understanding of their material and process, or to offer validation data for the FE modelling work.
